Within the town, Mattydale has a median year of construction of 1953, Lyncourt 1954 and Galeville 1956.

The City of Syracuse Water Department states that it provides retail water service to the entire City of Syracuse and, through wholesale and other service agreements, also supplies water to individual customers and portions of the towns of DeWitt, Onondaga, Geddes, Camillus and Salina, and supplies source water to the villages of Skaneateles, Jordan and Elbridge. Because the north side of the city is connected to a system supplied by OCWA, that area may receive Lake Ontario water from time to time.

Section 3.2 of the county Requirements for Implementation states that every licensed plumbing contractor actively working in Onondaga County must have certificates of insurance on file with Plumbing Control naming Plumbing Control as a certificate holder, covering public liability of 1,000,000 dollars, property damage of 50,000 dollars each accident with a 100,000 dollar aggregate, and New York State workers compensation. Separately, anyone who intends to excavate to install sewers or water lines must furnish proof of insurance for underground operations, the U Hazard, to Plumbing Control.

Why Salina's postwar hamlets carry the county's galvanized count
Salina was built in the galvanized steel decades and the inventory shows it. Of 12,048 service lines recorded in the town, 905 are galvanized requiring replacement, more than any other locality in the county outside Syracuse, and in 774 of those the authority half has already been swapped for copper. The pipe still corroding is therefore the one under your own lawn, and it does not improve on its own. The housing matches it: a town median build year of 1960, with Mattydale at 1953, Lyncourt at 1954 and Galeville at 1956, so the interior supply piping is often the same age as the service and closing up at the same rate.
